Boschi dei segni [valle camonica 2009]
........................................................
Was a workshop conducted by Magutdesign and LS graphic design in Valle Camonica, Italy.
It was realized with the idea of mapping and giving an identity to the territory of Valle Camonica,
a national archeological park with more than 140.000 stone carved figures, from the prehistoric
times.
After working and living in Valle Camonica for a week, many different analysis on how to evidence
the presence of the carved stones National Park, were given to the Public administration.
My group and me came to the conclusion that the lack of tourists visiting the National Park are
because of two main problems:
Lack of information: approximately from a target of 10 tourists that reach the info-point, just one
has knowledge of the carved figures that are around the area.
Inefficiency of public transport system: All the towns near the Valley lack of efficient public
transport. Tourists that want to visit the carved figures need to come with their own medium.
Solution: Evidence the presence of elements of interest that are found inside the Valley through
the creation of observation points that will be accompanied by a map that highlights the presence
of the carved stones national park. This observation points will be situated on places with high
receptivity of tourists. They can be easily reached if you follow the 9 circle graphic that will be
placed in the surface of every point of interest starting from the entrance of the town until
the point of interest. As the circles get filled with colour, means that you are more near your final
destination.
